Two opportunities have arisen at the Treforest office
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Contract: Permanent
Package: competitive salary & progression opportunity, plus study support if required
Duties will be:
Working closely with clients to ensure accurate bookkeeping is carried out
Sales ledger and purchase ledger processing
Bank reconciliations
Invoicing
VAT returns
PAYE/NIC reconciliations
Preparing management accounts
Month end and year end processing
Journals – both preparing and processing
Preparation of month end reports
Preparation of summary (quarterly) management accounts and commentary
Preparing year end accounts
Preparing accounts to trial balance including all reconciliations
Preparation and review of statutory accounts
Training and mentoring
Training junior staff members
The successful candidate must have:
Part Qualified ACCA/ACA or equivalent as a minimum or qualified by experience
Must have substantial accounting experience commensurate with the role, and good IT skills including Sage Accounts 50 and Microsoft package
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Self-motivated
Experience of working in teams and training others
Driving licence.
The following would also be desirable:
Experience of dealing with clients directly
Knowledge of Xero
Use of IRIS Accounts Production within a practice environment
Audit experience
Company secretarial experience
Job Title: Trainee Payroll Assistant
Contract: Permanent
Package: £13,500 + study, 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
This is a new role for an ambitious, intelligent and personable individual with a good academic background. Strong GCSE grades with a minimum requirement of B and above in Maths and English are a requirement. A Levels or equivalent higher level education demonstrating strong academics are desirable.
The candidate will be supported in study towards, and expected to attain the Payroll Technician Certificate. (www.cipp.org.uk/study/ptc.html). You must be willing undertake study in your own time to achieve this. Further progression of payroll qualifications will then be open to discussion.
Payroll requirements include:
Process weekly and monthly payrolls
Keeping up to date legislation
High level of accuracy
Liaise with clients for relevant information
Produce payslips and reports for all company payrolls
Calculate holiday entitlement
Submissions to HMRC
Adhere to deadline dates
Daily contact with HMRC. Address HMRC technical queries
Annual Year-end process and submissions
